Spineifx Country and Beyond Arts Project


Exhibition: Descendents of north-west Qld Waanyi woman Grace Isaacson
explore diverse aspects of their contemporary Aboriginal identity
through etchings, paintings, textiles, toys, and family artifacts.
Girringun Aboriginal Arts Centre compliment the exhibition with
displays of their own traditional woven baskets and ceramic bagu.

When: 01 July to 11 August. Open 10 am - 4 pm daily. Entry to public free.

Girringun Arts represents artists belonging to the nine tribal groups represented by Girringun
Aboriginal Corporation. We are the North Queensland Aboriginal people of the Nywaigi,
Warrgamay, Gugu Badhun, Warungnu, Girramay, Gulnay, Bandjin, Djiru and Jirrbal tribal groups.
Our traditional country ranges from the Mission Beach area in the north, to the Rollingstone area in
the south, to Clarke River in the south-west, west to Mt Garnet and east to include the Hinchinbrook
and Family group islands.
